Spring Picnic
April is my birthday and in 2023, I was already planning to celebrate it with a sunny picnic and one of those gorgeous, intricate heart-shaped cakes that were at the height of their popularity at the time. When we were given a brief titled ‘picnic hacks’, we knew exactly what to do. April is the beginning of Taurus season, and nothing is more Taurus than a birthday picnic!
We did a ton of research to come up with a list of hacks for a picnic, and I additionally supported the art direction and styling by selecting props and providing reference images.
When I received the footage to edit, I was inspired by lazy, slow, garden-party vibes and created my first draft, the first asset to the right (or below if you’re viewing on mobile). I personally love this version, which is why I’ve added it here, but we received several rounds of feedback to shorten the video and make the ‘hacks’ element more clear, which resulted in the final asset to the far right (or further below on mobile).
