In early spring 2023, I was prepping for the first summer in my first home and brainstorming how to make my deck hosting-ready. My top two needs: more seating and more storage. Inspired by my parents’ outdoor chest that doubles as extra seating, I realized a storage bench would be the perfect solution—especially if I added a removable cushion to make it more comfortable and cute.

A second lightbulb went off: this could be great content. My directors agreed, and I concepted, styled, directed, shot, and edited an Idea Pin with a step-by-step tutorial for creating the perfect cozy storage bench—just in time for summer gatherings.

The finished piece was exactly what I needed for my home, and the content was everything we wanted for our audience.
