National Selfie Day 2022
In June 2022, we were assigned “National Selfie Day.” Immediately, it sparked a round of “not-its” among the team—none of us wanted to post a selfie on the largest company in the world’s social channels (I hadn’t started appearing in content just yet). I joked that we should just have my dog, Frankie, take a bunch of selfies instead. Someone said, “Wait…that’s actually kind of a cute idea,” and the asset was born.
I styled, directed, shot, and edited the piece—taking Frankie all around town for a day of cute photo ops (a pretty standard day for us). Branding came through in the props I selected, which echoed the Walmart color palette of yellows and blues. The end result was one of my favorite shoots I’ve done, blending personality, brand voice, and a healthy dose of humor. And of course, if Frankie’s in it, it’s automatically one of my forever faves.
