KB&AP Wedding

My sister and her lovely wife were married on the 19th of June, 2022. I had the privilege of working with them to create their wedding theme and decor.

For all intents and purposes, it was an excercise in branding. I began with a mood board and a color palette that fit the vibe of the couple and their wedding,, just as I would do for a brand client. From there, I created a monogram logo, the invitation suite with a hand-lettered touch, and the website. These initial materials informed the design of the wedding day items: a welcome sign, a seating chart, number and hand-lettered place cards, and dinner and drink menus.

The wedding took place in a Chicago, Illinois historic building: the Chicago Firehouse. We were inspired particularly by 1920’s Chicago and the Art Deco movement. This inspired the fine, detailed, geometric graphics that tie the designs together. We chose fonts that felt both Vintage and Modern—a perfect fit for the couple.
