Gift Wrapping ASMR
In December 2023, my copy partner and I briefed an agency to create an asset around gift wrapping themes. The first version we received unfortunately missed the mark—the creator didn’t follow our brief, and even used product that wasn’t from Walmart. With just 24 hours until our scheduled post date, I quickly pivoted to create a backup asset at home.
I sourced product in-store, chose a simple monochrome look in Walmart navy (both for speed and because monochrome wrapping was trending on Pinterest), and shot a quiet, satisfying ASMR-style wrap tutorial. The biggest challenge? Getting ASMR audio with my dog, Frank, barking in the background—in his defense, the mailman was outside.
Ultimately, the creator did get back to us in time with an updated asset that we chose to move forward with, but I really enjoy the ASMR aspect, minimalist aesthetic, and calming feel of this piece—a quick-turn creative solution that proved we could execute on-brand, social-first content under tight deadlines.
