Family Feud Game
Of all the people I’ve worked with, Steve Harvey is my favorite name to drop.
In October 2022, we were briefed to create launch assets for Walmart’s new and exclusive Family Feud board game. At the time, TikTok’s “pass the ___” trend was everywhere, and there was a broader push from leadership to feature store associates in our content to make it feel more human and authentic. Our concept combined both—showing associates passing the game through the store before it landed on shelves.
When Steve Harvey himself agreed to participate by being the first to “pass” the game from the actual Family Feud set to our stores, we were thrilled. The catch: he’s an extremely busy man, and we only received one usable shot. I took on the challenge of making that single clip work—and it did. (Bonus points: Steve commented on the post. Does it get any cooler than that?)
We were also given permission to use screen captures from a library of Family Feud episodes, which naturally meant creating Steve Harvey memes. For Twitter, I built a “galaxy brain” meme—a consistent social media favorite—featuring some of Steve’s most iconic moments from the show, aligned with the original meme’s escalating panels. Yes, I even tracked down and licensed all four original stock images from the meme for commercial use. Oddly satisfying.
