Unheard Voices
In my third year at University of the Arts London’s Chelsea College of Arts, we were given an open brief titled Unheard Voices—to give a voice to anyone, in any medium.
I created a two-sided editorial magazine featuring two photographers I’d met at the Columbus College of Art & Design. Each side opened with their individual styles, meeting in the middle with collaborative portraits of each other. The publication flipped at the center for a mirrored, dual-perspective experience.
I also produced a video walkthrough of the magazine—my first foray into video editing—as a bonus digital asset.
Today, both artists’ voices are anything but unheard: Annie Noelker has photographed countless celebrities for the LA Times, and Hana Mendel’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, GQ, WIRED, and more.
How I’d refine this today: I’d push the typography and texture work further—experimenting with layered type treatments, tactile finishes, and contrasting paper stocks for a richer, more hands-on experience.
