DIY Clay Craft

When I really started to get into my content creation groove in summer 2023, I started bringing ideas to the team that I had seen on my for you page. At the time, I was seeing tons of air-dry clay content, so I created a proposal with a few different options of items I could make using materials from Walmart.

It was the beginning of the back-to-college campaign, so we decided to make something that could be given as a keepsake by and to friends that were headed off to different colleges: simple and affordable (yet heartfelt) painted photo holders.

I styled, directed, shot, and edited a TikTok and Idea Pin showing how to create this craft. We added subtle hints to tell the story: a calendar with dates ‘going away dinner’, ‘move-in day’, and ‘first day of classes’, as well as trending dorm room decor, like the mushroom lamp.

The TikTok had over 2M views and was turned into paid content. It was the top performing paid asset before being archived for unknown reasons.
