Wedding Coasters

In August 2019, the week before a coworker’s wedding, she had a last-minute idea and asked if I could help as a do-it-all creative. She wanted custom printed coasters that guests could place atop their drinks while they hit the dance floor.

There wasn’t time to get the coasters from a printer, and the coasters themselves were too thick to fit through a personal machine. She needed a large amount, so my solution was to create a large screen that could print as many at a time as possible.

On a Sunday afternoon, we were able to design the coasters together using a font from their wedding website, burn the screen, and make all 150 coasters.

I don’t get to practice screenprinting often, so when I do, it’s always a treat! Special thanks to Columbus Printed Arts Center for providing a space for artists to play and create.
